Shaw之前是一个四肢健壮的NFL(美国国家橄榄球联盟)运动员，但在30岁的时候，他不幸发现自己患有肌肉萎缩性脊髓侧索硬化症，简称ALS(amyotrophic lateral sclerosis),别名卢伽雷病。该病会导致神经元控制自主肌肉，发病后主要的症状有四肢肌肉萎缩、无力，吞咽及讲话困难，最后发展为呼吸衰竭。Tim发病后出现了严重的语言障碍，无法清晰地与人进行交流对话。</span></section><section><br  /></section><p><video width="100%" height="580" %的肺癌并没有在早期被发现。而AI可以帮助早期的胸部计算机断层检查更精准，让医生即早发现肺部的早期病变。</span></section><section><span><br  /></span></section><section><span>彭浩怡提出实际案例，指出一名肺部检测到异常细胞的病患，发现罹癌一年之前的断层扫描中，AI已经可以判断肺部出现异常征兆，但是在6位放射科医生里面，有5个无法用肉眼看出其中的异状。与放射科医师相比，Google提出的AI模型侦测到的癌症病例增加了5%，且伪阳性的检查结果减少了11%以上。</span></section><section><br  /></section><section><span><strong><span>AI模型快速筛检，让更多糖尿病失明更早被发现</span></strong></span></section><section><br  /></section><section><span>糖尿病视网膜病变是全球增长最快的失明原因，而全球有4.15亿名糖尿病患者都面临该风险。预防的关键在于每年一次的定期检查，检查时使用特殊的摄影机拍摄眼底。</span></section><section><span><br  /></span></section><section><span>彭浩怡指出，眼科医师会在视网膜图片中，寻找眼睛微血管爆裂的细微特征，并将图片由健康“无糖尿病视网膜病变”到最严重的“增殖性糖尿病视网膜病变”分为5级。在分级过程中，有些特征非常难以用肉眼发现，全球更有许多地区，缺乏足够的眼科医师可完成这项任务。</span></section><section><span><br  /></span></section><section><span>像是在印度，由于眼科医师短缺，再加上其他医疗体系的不足，导致将近45%的患者在还没有接受诊断之前，就已经丧失视力。</span></section><section><span><br  /></span></section><section><span>因此，Google打造了一个机器学习系统，用以检测患者视网膜图像中的糖尿病视网膜病变。目前已在《美国医学会杂志》发布一篇论文，指出该模型的表现与一般眼科医师相当。在印度与泰国也已经有医生在试用这套系统，作为检测的工具。未来也将持续拓展应用，同时寻求更进一步的硬件解决方案及监管审核。</span></section><section><span><br  /></span></section><p><p><img
